Special needs school based in Utrecht, KZN.
We cater for learners with learning disabilities on a wider spectrum. Class sizes are relatively small and each learner works at his/her own pace.
Students
Currently we have 233 learners enrolled at the school. These learners are between the age of six and eighteen years.

Levels
Learners are placed in groups according their age and also placed in different levels, depending on their capabilities

- Language (English) which learns communication skills, learning through stories, building functional vocabulary and grammar skills

- Life Skills are the basic everyday skills encouraging independence awareness of what the learner come into contact with during daily activities, a continuation from home.
Bergsig LSEN School offers residential facilities to learners who live far from school and who are not able to make use of our daily transport service.
Each residence functions under the control of a supervisor, twenty four hour supervision is managed by hostel staff. Emphasis is placed on discipline and homework.
The hostels has been open as a boarding house for boys and girls, ever since the school was opened. We try to ensure that the hostel has a homely atmosphere, where learners can relax after school.
The school has two designated drivers providing transport. Each bus covers two routes each morning and afternoon.
Routes roughly cover the areas between the school and Madadeni, Section 6. These routes comprise of pick-up points – no door-to-door transport
Place on the bus is determined by space available, however, the parents are responsible for transport if the buses are not available.
